Marrieds

A God centered and directed marriage is a wonderful thing! We believe that God knows best how to build a happy and fulfilling marriage relationship between a man and a woman. We have seen many marriages grow and deepen in the past 20 years as God's word and guidelines have been applied. Some key concepts we promote and support in the one another here in the Bloomington Church of Christ are:

•  God's plan for marriage is the best plan (Matt 7:24-28)

•  Husbands and wives have equal importance but different roles (Eph 5:21-28)

•  Every marriage needs help from others (Pr 15:22, 16:25)

As we strive to live out the concepts above we offer each other help. It is common for one couple to sit down with another couple to talk through difficulties or disagreements so progress and learning can take place. Our hope and dream is that we can assist as many married couples as possible to experience the terrific relationship that God intended marriage to be.

Kids Kingdom

Our goal is to offer children and their parents a nurturing and fun place to learn about how wonderful our God is.

We offer Sunday and Wednesday classes for children who are infants to pre-teens. Our classes are taught by trained church members who are on a 1 year rotation schedule. Meaning that our teachers teach for 3 months at a time and then they rotate. We feel that this offers the children some consistency which will aid them in learning and feeling secure. Our teachers are currently using a bright and fun curriculum that is offered by DPI.

Singles

The Singles Ministry of the Bloomington Church of Christ offers a fun environment for individual growth in ones personal relationship with God. The people in the singles ministry come from many different backgrounds and enjoy spending time with each other.

Various events in the singles ministry include dinners, movies, game nights, sporting events, and day trips to surrounding cities.

Youth Ministry

As we are devoted to helping all men know God and his Word better, certainly we are devoted to our youth. Our youth ministry is always changing and evolving to best meet the needs of the current mix of students. We have a marreid couple overseeing the 5th-8th graders, as well as, the 9th-12th graders. We have events both here in town and across the midwest with other teen ministries from "sister" Churches. The events are a combination of sound and practical Bible teaching with, of course, a focus on having fun as we go. In addition, we have seen terrific spiritual growth and maturing in many of our teens from the influence of spiritual singles or campus students who have been willing to take time to hang out with the teens or young teens.

Campus

 

Life as a college student can be a terrific time of life! We believe that God has the plan to help us make this time in life full of joy and fulfillment without leaving scars and wounds to be carried forward after college is completed.

As a campus ministry our first devotion is to love God with all of our heart. As we do that we are driven to encourage one another to be spiritual students, to help other students know God and his word, to have fun, and to help those around us in need.
