Welcome
Welcome home! The Bloomington Church of Christ welcomes you to our family of common everyday
people trying to make it to Heaven together. We all are fighting the fight to grow up in Christ and help our friends and family have a closer relationship with God. Come and worship the Lord with
us as we continue to praise God with not just words but through the daily battles to uphold God's word.
Weak, Willing...
and Watching God Work
and Watching God Work
Often, our weaknesses are easy for us to see. I'm sure if you took a few minutes to write down all the ways you feel weak, or list all of the areas of life in which you feel inadequate, you would find it to be an easy exercise. To be weak physically, emotionally, spiritually, and in all other areas at times is a part of being human. But with God, we can embrace our weaknesses and not be ashamed to admit they exist in our lives.
We are not alone in our weaknesses as all the heroes of the Bible were weak at times. David was only a "boy" when he faced Goliath. Gideon was the "weakest" of his entire clan. Israel was sure to be slaughtered at the Red Sea. Paul was weak, afraid and "full of trembling". Yet, each of these men was willing to follow God and His ways, in spite of their weakness. All were willing to work through their fears and do what God desired even though they felt the certainty of their failings.

All were willing to work through their fears and do what God desired even though they felt the certainty of their failings.
And what we see is that God moved in amazing ways in their lives! God moved through them in their weakness because they were willing to trust in His power, love, and deliverance. David defeated Goliath, Gideon and 300 men defeated the Midianites who were countless in number, and the Israelites trembled at the approaching Egyptian army only to see them drowned in the Red Sea. Paul in weakness and fear shared the good news with a passion and zeal that can still be felt in scripture today.
You and I are full of weakness. Are we also full of willingness? As we are willing to trust God and walk in His ways and do what He says, God will make our way amazing! God will multiply our efforts, God will increase our strength, God will amplify our desire to do good, and amazing things will happen. God wants to see astounding things happen through us for His glory. And He is also able to bring victory.
Consider your weakness. Are you willing to trust in God to work through your weaknesses? What impressive thing can God do in your life today? What striking thing will God do the rest of this year? Let us all keep our eyes open and our faith high and see God's power, love, and deliverance at work in our lives.
